Baby it’s cold outside!!! This time of year I feel like we laugh a lot around here! It always seems to be busy with kids hockey in full swing, Patrick and I are always heading in opposite directions and the new additions, Bootsie and Jersey, totally keeping us all on our toes! In short, life is Merry and Bright! I decided to keep my front porch and indoor decor very simple this year but I absolutely love how it turned out. Take a peek below at my Merry and Bright Christmas Home Tour Part One.

My Pom Pom toque and French Market basket can be found on at my Vintage Society Co Shop.
We went Christmas tree hunting earlier this season and I decided to get a tree for the front deck as well this year! I chose a skinny black Spruce tree and LOVE how festive it looks as you walk up the step!

I also finally had the courage to put my Nutcracker out on the front step! I purchased this lil’guy almost 4 years ago for this exact purpose but have never actually put him out there. I am always worried he might get ruined by the snow. This year he is standing guard and is the perfect christmas pop of colour to otherwise simple decor! The kids love that he is out there too!

Shop the Front Porch
I like to change things up out here every year and this year I came across pre-made fresh garland at the Home Depot for only $14/ 10′ strand! I decided to swag the entire front deck! It’s so simple but so pretty! The greens have lasted so long in the cold as well! They are still flexible and soft! I soaked them in a bath tub of water for a full 24 hours before hanging them up, which helped for sure!

Costco had a great price on the battery operated twinkle lights this year as well so I added those to the garland and Christmas tree for a pretty look at night time!

In years past I have done alot of fresh greenery pots on the front steps but with addition of the garland this year I decide to keep it to just my main two! The Mountain Ash tree’s in my front yard were so full of red berries this year which made for gorgeous Christmas photos! Mother Nature never seizes to amaze me!

I hope you enjoyed this years outdoor portion to my Merry and Bright Christmas home tour and that it gave you some inspiration for your own home! Do you decorate a lot outdoors? Or do you keep it mostly to Christmas lights? I would love to hear from you in the comments below. Your home is straight out of a Hallmark movie!! I love it. I think the garland is so sweet, and the tall spruce on the porch–perfectly undecorated, is just the right touch!
Happy Holidays!
