Autumn Outdoor Home Tour 2018

I can feel Autumn dancing in the breeze. The sweet chill of pumpkin and crisp sunburnt leaves!

Unknown

Fall has always been one of my favourite times of the year! I have loved to run for as long as I can remember and as a child, Fall meant running cross country. The small town I grew up in had a big hill that we would run in school and I always think of it when the nights cool and the trees change colour. When the leaves would fall on the hill they would smell amazing! I remember running and feeling the chill on the tip of my nose and the smell of Autumn! The BEST! Take a look at the change of colours I did this year in my Autumn Outdoor Home Tour 2018

Shop the Front Porch

This year, in Alberta, we didn’t get a very long Autumn. It was so very hot right until the end of August and then it just began to snow. It seemed that I got the garden pulled just in time before the frost hit hard.

I was so excited about decorating for this season all summer long because I grew a huge variation of pumpkins this year! I was able to use almost all of my own, home grown, pumpkins for my decor and that made it even more special.

The apples and berries on the trees out in front of the house were fully loaded this year as well so both springtime blooms and the autumn colours have been gorgeous! I adore these large trees on our property.

The last couple of years I have gone with more traditional colours so this year I decided to change it up a bit. I used a bunch of the pumpkins that weren’t fully ripe yet from my garden and still had a brighter green colour to them! I LOVE the combination of the green with the poppy colors of the mums!

I love my classic black urns for all seasons. You can find similar ones here. This year I kept my climbing vines from the summer as they turned a beautiful red and then I simply took potted mums and replanted them around the vines and birch tree poles. It turned out gorgeous.

Whenever possible, I like to add texture and details into my decor. This year I added the wicker pumpkins and baskets mixed with galvanized antique for something a bit different in the space and it all just went so well together. Find similar baskets and pumpkins here.

I hope you enjoyed this years Autumn Home Tour 2018. I had so much fun growing all the fall goodies and decorating the front porch.  Let me know what you thought of the front porch and what colours you decided to go with this year in the comments below!

  1. Your porch is simply beautiful! I love the cranberry red with all the white. It really pops! I went with White mums, white and green pumpkins. The mums sit in meal olive buckets. The white pops really well because the brick on my cottage is a red red. Love, love Autumn time!

    1. Thank you so very much!! I would love to see your porch as well! It sounds amazing!!

  2. Seriously stunning. Love the rich color and those trees in the front… OH MY! I bet you get people stopping and taking pictures. Or at least jaw dropping gawks as they pass by!

    1. Thank you so much Cindy. It has been snowing here so much that I have had the pumpkins covers a lot of the time. 🙁 Hoping it warms up next week. I’m so glad I got a few pictures before the snow came.
